English Teacher: Chad Timm

Salvete! My name is Chad Timm and I've been with UPC since 2009. I love all things grammar and vocabulary related! My background as high school Latin teacher allows me to contribute my unique insight and knowledge of language mechanics and root structures with our students in my informative and engaging live classes. As a teacher at both the high school and college levels, I've graded thousands of essays on dozens of topics. Tune in to my live classes to get the scoop on just exactly what separates good essays from bad, how to identify and take advantage of Latin's influence on English, and much more. On a personal note, I live in sunny San Diego, own a CrossFit gym, and love to surf my classic 9' long board!

Teacher Profile

Science/Crash Course Teacher: Stephanie Donaton

As a consultant and educator, I have experience in traditional as well as online classrooms developing, implementing and reviewing K-12 curriculum. Throughout my scientific training and educational career, I have developed curriculum that is effective for student learning and have disseminated this information among the educational and scientific communities. My goal is for students to make real world connections with the curriculum and help them tackle their educational obstacles by creating a love of learning. In order to be successful at this, I create materials that are not only interesting, but actively engage students in current scientific experiments, field studies and applications. In addition, I am able to find ways to maintain their interest in the curriculum through thought provoking lessons, discussions and hands-on activities. By challenging students to think as a scientist, they have a vested interest in the curriculum and are engaged throughout the course. Whether you need a single lesson or entire course, I will create or review the curriculum to meet your specific objectives and help your students learn.
